Manchester City is the world-famous football legend team and it is well established in English Football Club and the defending premier league championship is now working with Sony to build the world’s first football stadium inside Metaverse where the virtual reality experts will help to create. The partnership has been signed for three years with a unique project in Metaverse fully based on Virtual Reality. The project is still at the starting phase team of the company’s specialists has already visited the Etihad Stadium which is the home of the Manchester City team to map the field and to create the Virtual version.
There have been two specific technology used and can be thankful for using image analysis and skeletal – technology which is developed by the company Hawk-eye is a subsidiary company of Sony. It also told the Etihad will be shortly converted to the major center club in a VR environment.
Manchester City officials who are working with Sony to create such a technology project foresee a day when the stadium would be full of capacity will also allow the supporters who will not be able to travel to Manchester for watching the match with their live eyes.
The highly winning team is also looking for the possibility of fans meeting players in the Metaverse and will allow purchasing a product that is not available in the physical world. Most probably it looks like the purchase would be made using Cryptocurrency.
The chief marketing and fan engagement officer of the Manchester City team said “the whole point we could imagine of having a Metaverse is you can recreate a game, you can watch the game live, You are part of the action differently through different angles and you can fill the stadium as much as you want because its unlimited and its completely Virtual,” Nuria Tarre told to I News.
Tarre added
“I think the traditional image of someone sitting on a sofa, watching a screen, is something we can’t imagine is going still be the reality not even in ten years, maybe in five years already. Things move much faster than we think,” Tarre said to I News.
